EPS Shape Molding

As mentioned earlier, EPS beads are pre-expanded using steam in the pre-expander unit. These expanded beads are then stored in special silos for maturation, usually between 6 hours and 12-24 hours.

These beads are then automatically fed into the moulding chamber, where they are moulded into a mould of the desired shape.

Shape moulding is the most suitable production method for the production of products with thousands of different alternative shapes compared to block moulding.

The most important point for these models is that the mould can be changed very fast. Some EPS articles need more sophisticated production technologies. For example, ICF wall elements require Shuttle-type special shape moulding machines.
