Flexible Block Dimensions

The movable wall block form machine incorporates hydraulically driven mold walls that allow the operator to adjust the cavity dimensions between production runs. Manufacturers can produce multiple block widths, heights, or lengths from one machine, reducing capital expenditure and floor space compared to operating multiple fixed wall machines.

Wall positioning is controlled through the PLC, which stores programmed dimension presets and drives the hydraulic cylinders to repeatable positions. Switching between block sizes takes minutes, compared to hours for a physical mold change.

Available Adjustment Ranges

Movable wall machines are offered in several configurations to match different production requirements:

• Configuration A: 4000 x 1600-1200 x 1000 mm, width adjustable from 1200 to 1600 mm at fixed length and height.
• Configuration B: 4000 x 1200-900 x 1000 mm, width adjustable from 900 to 1200 mm at fixed length and height.
• Configuration C: 4000-3000 x 1400-1000 x 1000 mm, both length (3000 to 4000 mm) and width (1000 to 1400 mm) adjustable.

Custom configurations are available to match specific market requirements, including US-standard block dimensions.

Steam and Vacuum Performance

The movable wall design maintains full steam chest coverage across all wall positions. Steam injection pressure and timing are automatically adjusted by the PLC to compensate for changes in cavity volume, ensuring consistent bead fusion regardless of the selected block dimensions. Vacuum cooling cycles are similarly recalculated to match the block mass at each setting.

Production Considerations

Movable wall machines are the preferred choice for manufacturers who serve multiple customer segments, stock various insulation thicknesses, or need to respond to seasonal demand shifts without maintaining inventory of multiple block sizes. The ability to switch dimensions between runs also reduces finished-block storage requirements, since blocks can be produced to order.

Downstream cutting lines should be configured to accept the full range of block dimensions the movable wall machine can produce, with adjustable guides and programmable cut positions.
